I’m one of those that always preferred to use the alias ls instead of dir for Get-ChildItem. In the beginning I mixed them up, but when I started using Linux more and more I liked that I could use the same command for the same thing in both PowerShell and bash.

It seems that most solutions for setting up git to work through a proxy server depends on installing cygwin and using corkscrew. Having a need to get this set up at a customer, I really didn’t want to install cygwin just for this. Let me explain my setup that works without cygwin/corkscrew. (more…)
